JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Workshop Assistant / Maker
Part-Time (18 hours per week),
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire,
Starting Salary: £11,700
Are you a hands-on creative who loves dogs and thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment? Trinkety Paws, one of the UK’s leading makers of high-quality waterproof dog accessories, is looking for a Workshop Assistant / Maker to join our growing team.
We handcraft every item in our Northamptonshire workshop with care, creativity, and a strong commitment to detail—and we’re on the lookout for someone who shares our passion.
What we're looking for:
We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented problem solver who can work independently, stay organised, and jump into new tasks with enthusiasm. Precision and accuracy are absolutely essential in this role—you’ll be responsible for making personalised products to customer specifications, so a steady hand and sharp eye are key.
This role would suit someone with a background in crafts, leatherwork, sewing, or handmade production, who is ready to learn and grow with a small but passionate team.
Flexibility:
This role is also suitable for a freelance worker, as long as the work is completed on-site in our workshop, during regular working hours (weekdays or weekends). This provides flexibility for those with freelance schedules, while ensuring quality and consistency in production.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Crafting our full product range: dog collars, leads, and accessories
-
Producing both direct customer orders and wholesale requests under tight turnaround times
-
Accurately following detailed product specifications, including measurements, hardware options, and personalisation
-
Managing product variations and customisations across a wide range
-
Packaging and preparing orders, creating labels, and updating order statuses
-
Occasionally responding to customer enquiries via email or online platforms
-
Attending trade shows, dog events, and outdoor markets across the UK (travel required)
-
Assisting in our on-site dog boutique, including custom fittings and bespoke orders
-
Receiving and unpacking stock, restocking shelves, and maintaining a clean, tidy workspace
-
Supporting the creation of content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok)
Skills & Experience:
-
Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to product accuracy
-
Experience in crafts or leatherwork (a plus, but not essential)
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
A fast learner with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
-
Physically organised, with the ability to maintain a clean and tidy workspace
-
Comfortable working in a dog-friendly environment with a passion for pets
About You:
-
Creative and hands-on, with experience in crafting or handmade production
-
Friendly, approachable, and confident when interacting with customers and team members
-
Reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a can-do attitude
-
Highly accurate, with a methodical approach to making custom products to spec
-
Must have your own means of transport (our location is remote and we attend events across the UK)
If you're excited by the idea of crafting beautiful, high-quality products for dogs, working in a creative space, and being part of a growing brand that values quality and individuality, we’d love to hear from you.
